The E

Hello ‘E’ Readers,
June is among us now and things are in full swing for summer time here in Epsilon. Our last release of ‘The E’ was mid April, so this issue will fill all of you interested readers in on what has happened with Epsilon in the past two months.
Epsilon’s new constitution and code of conduct have been released and are showing great progress, I am very proud of our new structure and procedures. All of our sims are doing wonderfully. Ashton and myself are currently in the preliminary steps of creating a new sim for Epsilon. It is always exciting to be able to stretch ones imagination and create and layout a new game and invite interested people to come and play.
I want to mention Dark Frontier, formerly known as the USS Titan. I am excited to see this veteran sim take steps to broaden its horizon. FSF Gabriel and FSF Tommy are doing wonderful with it.
Before I wrap my letter up for this issue, I would like to congratulate Delta Fleet on a wonderful competition we had for the month of May, a message board competition. I want to thank all Epsilon Fleet supporters for their help. I would also like to ask all of you to invite people to our boards. We have moved past trying to post the most on our boards, I would now like us to focus on bringing in new people. Word of mouth is great, so tell a friend about Epsilon Fleet, point them to our wonderful message board community… and you too, stop by and have fun.
I hope all of you have a wonderful and safe summer.

UES Columbia
Doctor Lexington and Commander Karde have arrived onboard the Columbia now. Both officers, along with Commander Bourne had a meeting with Captain Bredesen, CO of the Columbia and Task Force 37 Commander. David Bredesen, based on the evidence given to him has removed Commander Karde from Command of the UES Taluga, and demoted him to LtCdr, and assigned him to be the Columbia’s new Armory Officer.
Now the Taluga has no one to take Command of her. David does the hardest thing he could possibly do at this time... he places Commander Bourne in Command of the Taluga.
This decision doesn't set well with him, he has so many feeling for Megan Bourne, and he has to let her know how he feels before she leaves. He rushes to her quarters where he tells her how he feels, and the two have a romantic engagement before she departs for the Taluga.
Illiana Lexington and LtCdr. Karde no longer have to keep their relationship a secret, while David Bredesen and Megan Bourne have finally come to terms with their relationship... but it must stay hidden at all costs from the crew.
Security is preparing for tactical alert, helm is learning the Columbia's controls, sickbay is trying to get their low supplies in order, and all hands on the Columbia as well as the rest of the Task Force are preparing to disembark and head back out on Operation Lancer.
The stage has been set... all members are in position... the Task Force disembarks once again toward the Agilian System... their mission objective... to destroy the Romulan Supply base and Fleet Yard in the system. This attack is in retaliation for the destruction of Task Force 23.
Megan has left David on the Columbia alone. Apparently he hurt himself during their romantic engagement and had to stop by sickbay after she left. Dr. Lexington is in the dumps over Karde's demotion, but she is quickly picked up with a visit to his quarters.
The Fleet sets sail... all hands to battle stations. Lt.Cmdr. Gregory Karde... former CO of the Taluga, now Armory officer... no where on the bridge when needed... he gets called out over the comm by Bredesen.
Two hours after launch... sensors detect a Vulcan ship on an intercept course with the Columbia... hailing frequencies have been opened... is this a Romulan trap? Who's on the Vulcan ship... we shall soon see.
An automated message was recieved from the Vulcan ship on sensors. It was instructions on how to proceed to recover the pod... a one man pod.
Captain Bredesen arrived in engineering with an armed security team. The instructions for the Columbia were to have the pod taken to engineering and opened. Amidst oxygen hoses and other various connections... a dark figure emerged; Commander Westbrook, sent from Earths Naval Intelligence division.
Westbrook explained to Captain Bredesen his reason for being sent...
Bredesen assigned him quarters and has asked him to observe a watch on the bridge.
A medical emergency has erupted when *someone* decided to tinker with one of Columbai's experimental... very unreliable food synthesizers. The accident resulted in the death of Columbia's Head Nurse. Dr. Lexington is enroute to Captain Bredesen to report the news.
On the Taluga... Commander Bourne is fighting the yellow on her uniform...
she wants her teal back, along with fighting her uniform, she seems to have a rebelious and jealous XO. Bourne quickly put the XO in his place with a quick conversation... alone, in her ready room.
Upon retrieval of the vulcan one-man pod, the Task Force once again resumed course for their mission target. Only time will tell what events unfold from here. The Columbia and the Task Force are on a steady course for the Agilian System. All departments are mantained. Sickbay had an emergency that resulted in the death of a nurse (as stated in last summary) Dr. Lexington has made her way to the bridge to talk to the Captain, but has been summoned over by Commander Jacob Westbrook... the new figure on board.
Security Officer Mark Harmon discovers a new face in the Chief Engineers office... Lt. Sharie Zier, who transferred aboard just an hour before the Columbia and the rest of the fleet resumed course for the Agilian System, had yet to report in. After being questioned by Mr. Harmon, she quickly agreed to go check in.
On the Taluga, Commander Bourne, Acting CO, has discovered that her CMO, Dr. Black has not been sending over medical supplies when requested to do so by the Columbia... she is underway to investigate the matter.
During Lexington's conversation with Westbrook, she too has discovered that Dr. Black has not been sending over medical supplies. Westbrook and Lexington make arrangments to go over the Taluga themselves
September 8, 2158 is coming to close. First shift officers that had been on watch all day have now been releieved. Second shift has just taken over... before retiring to his quarters... David is informed by Westbrook that he has some... information to give him.

USS Titan
Closure had come to him in waves as if the very nature of that closure were an ocean; for no longer did Admiral Gabriel "Matrix" Logan look behind, he looked forward, gazing into the light of the future. The Agency had fallen, the fight over, and the Admiral's vengeance had played out, concluding with the death of General Jake "Darkstone" Stevenson.
But it was out of this fall, from the fires of destruction, burning red into space produced from the mass explosion of the Agency's flagship, the Eden-A, that the true nature, the very core of the Darkness, that birthed in the form of an Interloper, dressed in black, hooded by shadow, and when attempting, then succeeding in an assault on the Titan-A to get back Raminiki Yiu, shown even more powerful, more skillful, and faster then that of Logan himself. In the Admiral's defeat, Interloper kidnapped Captain Tom Archer, former Commanding Officer of the Titan, and, through a telepathic Borg link, delivered the ultimatum to the Admiral stating that Yiu was to be returned or else Archer would be killed. The situation grew even more dire even as the Admiral gave Command to Captain Daniel Brooks, the plot growing more sinister even as Logan asked his friend to deliver personally a message to the Borg Queen signaling worry across the many corridors of the Titan-A; for, the Interloper had more in command with the fabled Gabriel "Matrix" Logan as his identity was revealed to Captain Archer to be that of Sion "Xatrix" Logan, a duplicate clone, similar and in more ways better then that of his counterpart.
This notion was tested as both Logan Brothers met onboard the forgotten Starbase Infinity, the location of the trade of hostages. The Admiral's away team, which consisted of Commander David MacKinnlite, Corporal Mack Harmon, and Lt. Jerico Michaels all of which held silent in a command booth above all as Admiral Logan, with Raminiki Yiu in hand, met with his brother who held Archer in his grasp, a broadsword held firmly across the Captain's throat. This sword glowed at the very presences of Raminiki Yiu, making her eyes resonate in a blue blaze of fire, her mind flooding in pain, recognizing the blade as one of the keys of the Portal Of Eternity; the Sword of Eternity blared blue before all in the Hanger Bay.
But, Yiu was not the only one who's eyes blared in blue recognition to the old bane of the blade; for, so to did Lt. Jerico Michaels eyes glow in blue, his mind finally settling on the notion, the very fact that he to was an Eoman, his bloodline the same as the race that created the universe. In that one moment, Michaels was connected to Yiu, seeing what she saw, feeling what she felt, thinking what she thought. It was in that thought that Jerico saw what she was telepathically telling the Admiral to do; the final and only option. The Chief Tactical screamed aloud, drawing his weapons from his long coat as he saw Gabriel "Matrix" Logan slice his kitana across Yiu's throat, cutting off her head from her shoulders. Through the pain of that act, feeling that cut, Jerico fired upon the Agents that, at the sign of light from above, fired back. The entire away team joined in as the Admiral rushed towards his brother, slashing the broadsword away before grabbing Archer and throwing him aside before combating with Sion.
Thousands of light-years away, in the clutches of the dark Borg Collective, Captain Daniel Brooks and Ensign Cody Matthews meet with the Borg Queen who still recovers from the last encounter with the Federation and who's look is more of that of a woman then that of her former self. The message is given, a holographic representation is displayed of Gabriel "Matrix" Logan before all present and in that image, Logan admits that the Agency is defeated but that soon the Federation would fall to a new evil, and in that, the Admiral speaks more into the Portal of Eternity, and the war within that conflict. At the end of the message, when all words are said, everyone believes Logan to be dead for it was stated early in the message and was given in a fashion that was somewhat like his last will and testament. To this, the Queen asked to see Logan's body and for that the Titan-A along with the entire Borg Collective head for the Admiral's last known location, they slowly head for Starbase Infinity.
That same Starbase now rocked and shuddered as if it were being pounded with a thousand torpedoes as the two Logan Brothers battled all across it's interior, among the shots and phaser light of the battling away team with the remaining Agents of the Agency. Strength was pushed beyond limits, fabricating into inhuman capabilities, messed metal, and unfathomable power. Skills in Combat never before seen, sped with blinding ferocity powered forth from the two hybrid Borgs as the very air around them yielded to their battle. It was in the middle of everything, the Agents and the Away Team stopped in wonder as both Gabriel "Matrix" Logan and Sion "Xatrix" Logan concluded their fight in a breathtaking moment that sent Gabriel into the power battery, streaming and sailing through the air, causing the spark of explosion that literally rip apart the Starbase. To this, the Command Booth above fell burning to the hot metal of the 1st level Hanger Bay, starships exploded, and the Agents were consumed in a firestorm that ended and burnt their lives away. Commander David MacKinnlite was the first to wake and as he got the others of his team around to conscientiousness, he saw the rising dark form of Sion "Xatrix" Logan, his long coat caught on fire, the blade of Eternity glowing a bright blue. It was this blade that ended MacKinnlite's life, first with a stab through the chest, then a solid decapitation. As Harmon fired point blank his special rifle on pulse fire, Sion ran his blade across his gun arm, slicing through bone and muscle, cutting off his right forearm. In the aftermath of all MacKinnlite's death, and Harmon's injury, Jerico Michaels was taken.
The plot thickened and the bane of the conflict rendering its final form as the Ovons, the demons of the 9th Dimensional Plane, began a full scale assault on the Alpha Quadrant, the circled ripping of space shuttered throughout the barrier of the Federation's boarders as slowly the gap was closed, the "red space" consuming everything as it moved closer to Earth. In this threat, the Alpha Quadrant was united, no longer did hate fill between normal nemesis for now they were combined to fight off one common threat, the interest of the entire Quadrant, ever home planet of ever organizational super power in the universe, was at stake. For this, the Federation Fleet was assembled, the final front line was placed in Earth's Orbit.
The collective voice of the Borg brought forth back the force of the Federation's only hope, and out of the firestorm center of a mass explosion, broken and shattered body, ratted and torn uniform, and a broken right optical unit, all of which belonged upon the shoulders of Gabriel "Matrix" Logan as he lifted himself out of the mangled metal and flames. Soon after, he, Captain Archer, and Corporal Harmon were beamed back aboard and, in that events wake, the Admiral signaled the Titan-A and the Borg Collective towards Earth.
Now, upon all things that were once hated, a new fleet has been formed, the last of the Federation's, composed of millions of ships from every organization, ever empire, and every stellar concordia. All of which were brought together by a common threat, that of destruction for the Ovon's would not stop at Earth with the destruction of Starfleet, they would continue, engulfing everything and everyone in their path and for this, the Federation Fleet stood in wait, the Titan-A becoming it's flagship.
And as hell came forth, Admiral Gabriel "Matrix" Logan and Captain Daniel Brooks prepared for their last battles for they would fight with ever breath and fiber of their bodies.
For if the Titan-A were to fall so to would the Federation.....

USS Vastitude
The USS Vastitude was sent deep in Orion Space, looking for the ICARUS system. The ICARUS system was stolen from StarFleet by the Orions, this of course is a big embarrassment to StarFleet Intelligence and Security.
This accident must be taken care of quickly and silently, therefore the USS Vastitude is sent to the Orion station where the device is about to go on an auction to the highest bidder.
An away mission was formed and sent down to the station disguised as aliens, they have located an Orion who might know something, he was taken back to the ship to interrogation,
while on the station an Old Lady identified the Away Team Members as the Vastitude crew, even though they were disguised, the details about the Old Lady are unknown, and another away mission was formed to investigate about her, they came without much results. The Orion who was interrogated aboard the ship gave information only after he was threatened to be thrown out of an airlock, he gave out the location of the ICARUS device, another away mission formed by the Orion Specialist, the officer who interrogated, Marines and Medical was sent to the station to find the device.
Meanwhile on the ship a food poisoning struck the crew, a lot of the crewmembers are ill in Sickbay, including the Captain, what made the new Temporary XO assigned by StarFleet to take command immediatly in her arrival. The food poisoning is being investigated and hopefully a cure will be found soon.

Interview with FSF Titan (Joe Ferguson), Epsilon Fleet Commanding Officer and host of the UES Columbia.

Interviewer: Hello Joe Ferguson, how are you?
Interviewee: I am fine, thanks.
Interviewer:You are currently Epsilon's Fleet Commanding Officer, for 4 years now, how does it feel?
Interviewee: Doesn't seem like that long actually. 4 years has passed quickly.
Interviewer: Lately Epsilon Fleet has gone through many changes, can you tell us a bit about them?
Interviewee: Well, anyone that has known me for a while... knows I change things often. I change things often because I like to try to keep things efficient and effective.
The most recent changes in Epsilon were made for those two reasons.
We made some major changes to Epsilon's constitution and code of conduct. We also initiated, for the first time in Epsilon, a set procedure for hiring and evaluating all incoming Epsilon Fleet hosts, which we hope will help us weed out inactive hosts.
and the one thing in Epsilon that is always being updated in some form... is the Epsilon Fleet website.
Interviewer: What can you specify more on the restructure of Epsilon that was declaired in May 1st?
Interviewee: We wrote a more defined job description for the Fleet CO and XO. The FSF Charter gives Fleet CO's a basic job, what we have now tried to do with the EF Constitution is clearly define what the Fleet CO does in Epsilon. Likewise we have done the same with the XO. We also eliminated the Host Coordinator post from our previous structure and in its place, with a very different job, have created a Second officer position. We hope this post will allow us to actually train the most senior host of the fleet, to possibly be a Fleet XO in the future.
Interviewer: What do you think about the Epsilon community?
Interviewee: I think it is the best it has ever been. I am very proud of all the members of Epsilon for both their sim community but for the fleet community as well. We have a group of very active and dedicated hosts, who in turn encourage their members to be active. It is really wonderful.
Interviewer: What you would change in Epsilon?
Interviewee: About the only thing I am restless with in Epsilon is the website and the message boards for Epsilon... but like I said earlier, i am always messing with those. Other than that... I would like to fill the vacant hosting positions in the fleet, besides that, I wouldn't change anything in the fleet.
Interviewer: What can you tell us about the future? any plans?
Interviewee: We are anticipating losing up to 2 sims within the next 6 months to possibly help create a new fleet in the FSF. With that in mind we are working, slowly, on creating a new sim for Epsilon. We are activly creating one sim at the moment, but my hope is to have 2 new sims within the next 6 to 8 months, one being a Star Trek sim, the one we are currently working on will be a non-trek sim.
Interviewer: Anything you would like to say to our readers?
Interviewee: Just like to thank the readers of The E, the members and the hosts of Epsilon, for their wonderful support of Epsilon Fleet. I like to think I am priviledged to command the best fleet in the FSF, and everyday I look around at all the wonderful aspects of Epsilon and it only makes me realize how true that is. I may command Epsilon, but this is not my fleet, it is the members fleet, so to the members of Epsilon... if you want something changed in Epsilon, all you have to do is make it known. I also want to thank everyone that uses our fleet boards for both recreational and informative purposese, and I'd like to ask everyone to tell a friend about Epsilon, invite someone to our boards... maybe they will like what they see and want to become a member.
Interviewer: Thank you very much Joe Ferguson have a great day!

To The Tune Of 'Sloop John B' by The Beach Boys

(Kirk sings)

We left on The Enterprise B; Pavel, Scotty and Me; Around Orion's Belt
we did roam; But things went astray; It wasn't Tuesday; Now the ship's
so broke up; I wanna go home

There were things wrong that I couldn't dream; We had no tractor beam;
Then I heard that we were the only ship close; The trip was no fun; The
ship wasn't done; But I swear one last time; We'll see the ship home

So fire up the B's warp core; And see how the Impulse sets; Call on The
Captain; We've gotta bring this ship home; Bring us back home; Oh, Bring
Us Back Home; Yeah, Yaeh; The Ship might break up--so bring us back home.

The red alert started to blare; Harriman gave up his chair; Then a ship
of El-Aurians up and went boom; The media drones; why won't they leave
me alone; I'm going down below deck; So we can go home

But the nexus started to flare; It wiped away all my cares; Somehow I
always knew I would die alone; But I look around me; and see I'm back home

So fire up the B's warp core; And see how the Impulse sets; Call on The
Captain; We've gotta bring this ship home; Bring us back home; Oh, Bring
Us Back Home; Yeah, Yaeh; The Ship might break up--so bring us back home.

I rode around hills and snow; Saw Antonia who none of you know; I went
back and I saved everybody from Dad to David; But the touch I can't
feel; This place isn't real; But whenever I face this; I end up back home

My journey is done; My destiny's gone

(Fire Up The B Now; Fire Up The B Now)

This Is The Worst Trip I've Ever Been On

So Lets Make A Difference; Lets Make A Difference; Go After Soran; Go
After Soran; Somehow I know Jean-Luc will take me back home; Take my
place on the Bridge; But that Bridge is not his; One more world saved,
though they won't know me...

So fire up the E's warp core; And see how the Impulse sets; Call on The
Captain; We've gotta bring this man home; Bring him back home; Oh, Bring
Him Back Home; Yeah, Yaeh; Oh The Ship's First Mission--is to bring him
back home.

Thanks to Rob Morris for the song.
